The Fruit Stop - 2012 prices

fruitstop

The Fruit Stop is up and running within School, all children are enjoying the wide variety of snacks offered for P3 and upwards. The prices for 2012 are as follows:

  • Apple snack pack: 50 p
  • Apple & grape snack pack: 50 p
  • Grape snack pack: 50 p
  • Pineapple snack pot: £1.00
  • Sunshine fruit pot: £1.00
  • Fruit salad pot: £1.00
  • Dairylea breadstick dunkers: 60 p
  • Frubes: 20 p
  • Apple juice: 40p
  • Orange juice: 40p

We have also added two new items at 40p. These are a Pineapple Lolly and Water Melon. Both of these items were trialled in Term One and proved to be very popular. We felt the 40p price was also very appealing as combined with a 20p Frube should provide your child with a well balanced mid morning Break.

Fruit Stop

Just a quick note to say that the Fruit Stop will not be available until week commencing 10 September.

Our whole school today joined together in an Assembly to celebrate the success of many of our children. Awards were given out for achievements for Lurgan Show, Swimming Bronze Survival Badges, Distance Badges and Sports Day Prizes for Foundation, KS1 and KS2.

Awards

Other awards included the Hockey Player of the Year, Rugby Player of the Year, Boys' Football Player of The Year, Boys' Football Development Prize, Girls' Football of the Year and Cricket Player of the Year.

Balloon race!

We released the Balloons in school today which was rescheduled from the Fun Day.

Balloons!

The weather was very mild and the sky was clear so we thought today would help the balloons to travel further! Every child watched the spectacular colours float into the sky after a very excited countdown of 10 to 1!!!

Rain will NOT stop play!

After much deliberation it was decided to make 'the decision' regarding Fun Day which is taking place tomorrow. Due to the inclement weather forecast we have decided to opt for an indoor Fun Day event. This means that we will not require as much help this year.

The huge response from parents' was simply wonderful so we do hope and trust that by not accepting all of your offers we have not caused offence. Some parents have been contacted because their response forms suited the activities we are able to offer tomorrow:

Bouncy castles in the Assembly Hall,
A Key Stage Two Craft Table and Nail Painting in Mrs Erskine's Small Group Room,
Face Painting in all Resource Areas,
Interactive games (in each of the Key Stage Two classrooms),
Construction, Art & Design along with Interactive group games. (Key Stage One),
Classroom activities and games.

Furthermore children will:

• be provided with a mid morning break / snack of crisps and a drink ... which has been generously donated by The Village Mace through contact made by Mr Alan Dunn, Chairman of the PTA,

• be provided with Lunch,

• be given a lolly in the afternoon.

Please note that any money left at the end of the event will simply go to PTA funds which as you know are allocated to the school.

The balloons will be released on Thursday 28th June, when hopefully there will be more settled weather.

Sports Day 2012 thanks

A huge and sincere thank you must go to Mr Egerton for not only taking the hundreds of photos and video clips but for uploading them on to the wonderful School Website. THANK YOU!

A sincere word of thanks to all the parents for attending today and making the Annual Sports Day event even more memorable. The sense of community was wonderful today and strengthened the already well established home/ school bonds. Please remember that Friday is our Fun Day event, again weather permitting. Parents are welcome to this event also which has proven to be one of our most enjoyable days in the school calendar and a highlight for the children.

Sports Day 2012

SportsDay

CHILDREN SHOULD COME TO SCHOOL IN CASUAL CLOTHES (suitable for sports with appropriate training shoes) EVEN IF IT'S RAINING AT 9 am AS WE'RE HOPING THE WEATHER MAY IMPROVE

We would also ask that children carry a pencil case to school too incase we are rained off.

We are praying for good weather on Monday 11th June as we intend to hold Sports Day. This year, due to Year Group trips and 'Enterprise Days' if the weather is very bad we will have to defer Sports Day to Monday 25th of June.

If the weather is good on Monday 11th we plan to hold the whole school sports on the new MUGA (Multi Use Games Area). Parents are welcome to attend. Please note that you may wish to bring a folding chair or the like as the MUGA periphery is still rough and may not be suitable to sit on at this stage especially after the recent spell of heavy rain.

The PTA plan to serve tea / coffee and short bread on Monday in the school Mall during Break . . . Proceeds in aid of PTA funds.

Children may wear casual clothes (which are appropriate for sports) and of course if the weather is good it may be advisable for sun screen to be sent with your child too as we will be out of doors most of the morning, HOPEFULLY!

Thank you in anticipation of your continued support.
