School Savings Scheme

Dear parents

Please be advised that the First Trust Bank will be with us in school over some of our Parent Teacher Interview days (Tuesday 23 Oct & Thursday 25 Oct).

This is an ideal opportunity for you to open a School Savings Account as staff from First Trust will be set up in the mall ready to assist.

Many parents use this scheme as a means to save for the landmark Educational Field Trip of Primary Seven children to London. It’s a great way to save in general but we know many parents divert ‘Christmas or Birthday money’ or regular small amounts every week or month solely with the London Trip in mind.

Savings are collected in school every Tuesday and sent along to the Office.

Further details to follow!

October Parent/Teacher Interviews 2018

Dear parents

Please be advised that the forthcoming October Parent Teacher Interview notes will be sent home on Thursday 27 September.

The Parent Teacher Interviews are scheduled for:
Tuesday 23 October
Wednesday 24 October and
Thursday 25 October.

We know that as busy, working parents you value having time to schedule these important consultations into your diary.

Summer 2018

The Principal, Staff and extended Waringstown Primary School Community wish you all a safe and sunny Summer.

Please revisit the website mid August for further information on dinner menus, etc prior to the start of the new Academic Year 2018/19.

BeeActive Award Presentation

Recently our BeeActive Coaches visited a whole school assembly to present children who attended the afterschool activity awards to recognise their progress.

Annual Sports Prizes

On Friday 22 June we had our annual sports prizes given out during a special assembly.  Teachers who coach after school sports awarded prizes for hockey, football, rugby, swimming and cricket.  To mark their time spent in senior choir the Primary 7 leavers were also presented with music medals as part of the celebration.  Lurgan Show winners were presented with their awards to end the assembly which was enjoyed by all!  Well done to all of our winners.

**BeeActive Football**

Dear parents

Please be aware that there is a BeeActive Football session tomorrow, Fri 15 June.
This is the last session of the season for the children.

As it’s the last session children may wear their own skips to school!

However, P1’s will stay on next Friday (22 June) as they are owed a session and Mr Moran and Mr Magee have been in touch to say they haven’t forgotten.

The gentleman and their team have worked tirelessly with the children and enjoyed their time over the last number of weeks immensely. On your behalf I thank them both again for their sterling work with our children and for their contribution too on the night of the School Fete.

Sports Day 2018

Sports Day 2018 . . . what a great day!!! The children all enjoyed the races and events and the fact that so many parents managed to attend made the day ever so special. Take a look through the Sports Day Gallery:

** SPORTS DAY - Thursday 31 May 2018 **

Sports Day is scheduled for Thursday 31 May. It is one of the highlights of the school calendar as we see the whole school community Working, Playing and Succeeding TOGETHER!

Parking in the school grounds is limited but Holy Trinity Church of Ireland have kindly opened their car park for your use. The day is scheduled to commence at 9.30am on the MUGA Pitch with all races in various zones.  See the attached map.  Seating is at a premium but you are very welcome to bring along a picnic rug or camping chair just to ensure your comfort. Tea / coffee and shortbread will be on offer in the Assembly Hall over the children's morning Break period.

Please be aware that all races will, weather permitting, have taken place by 12.30pm so ensure you're in school early if you're returning to work.  Finally, it is important that all children wear appropriate clothing; especially supportive footwear! It is also a good idea to ensure children have a hat and sun cream in anticipation of good weather. We respectfully ask that children DO NOT share these items.
