Sports Day 2019

Sports Day 2019 . . . the weather was very kind and everyone had a great day!!! The children all enjoyed the races and events and the fact that so many parents managed to attend made the day ever so special.  The sports day pictures this year were taken by our Digital Leaders, a huge thank you to them. Sports Day 2019 was a huge success with several hundred friends and family mingling freely in the grounds.  It was wonderful to see so many of the school community relax over a cuppa and catch up with friends at Break time.

Thank you for your continued support!

Take a look through the Sports Day Gallery to see how everyone got on:

An Amazing Easter Bonnet Parade!

We have had a  fantastic response to the Easter Bonnet Competition.  The Easter Bunny had a difficult job choosing the winners from each class as each Bonnet was amazing!

All the entries were outstanding!!  Well done to all who entered.

Many thanks once again for your continued support.

Have an egg-citing Easter!! A picture of the winners will follow!

A Farewell To Mrs Johns

Waringstown Primary School recently came together for a morning assembly to say a fond farewell to Mrs K Johns, one of our classroom assistants, who has worked with us for just over 11 years.  Mrs Johns has recently qualified as a Teacher and we congratulate her on this success.  We shall miss Mrs Johns from the school very much as she has become a familiar figure to the Pupils and Staff alike.  We wish her every blessing as she moves on now to new pastures.

Keep Your Eye Out For The Easter Bunny In WPS!

As Easter is approaching we are once again planning our Easter Egg-stravaganza!!  The children have been eggs-cited about the competitions which have been actively ongoing in school:

Guess the number of eggs in the jar                       20p 1 guess or 6 guesses £1.00

Guess the chicks name                                          20p 1 guess or 6 guesses £1.00

Design your own Easter Bonnet open for all year groups.  Judging will take place on Thursday 11 April.  Please make sure your bonnet is in school on or before Thursday 11 April.

There will be a prize for the best boy and best girl bonnet, the Easter Bunny will pick the most colourful and creative design.  All prizes will be awarded in assembly on Friday 12 April.

Keep a watchful eye out for the Easter Bunny!!

Primary 1 Enjoy Farm Topic

Primary One's new topic is the Farm.  They have been learning about the different animals on the farm and this week they were investigating sheep.  Recently Primary 1 were lucky to get a visit from Mrs Thompson and their newborn lamb Snowy!  Primary 1 were able to ask some questions and they then got to see Snowy drinking milk from a bottle.  Everyone also got a chance to stroke her before she went home for a big sleep.  Thank you to Mrs Thompson for bringing Snowy in to visit us, she was such a well behaved lamb! *More photographs added recently.*
