The whole staff would like to wish the pupils, parents and wider Waringstown Primary School community a very Happy Christmas!
Thank you once again for your wonderful support of all things connected with school.
School resumes on Thursday 04 December. Please note that after school clubs will not begin in the first or second week of the new term. Start dates will be posted on the website.
The whole school came together to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas in an Assembly led by Mr McCambley.
Many of the Christmas traditions were explained by Mr McCambley. The focus at the end was the Nativity scene where Baby Jesus was placed right at the HEART of our celebrations. We closed the assembly with a rendition of ‘Away In A Manger’ and a prayer.
During our christmas assembly we celebrated with Mr McCambley's golden postcard recipients. Well done to all!
Our Eco Council chose the winning entry for our school eco code. The winner received a £20 Rushmere shopping voucher. This eco code , displayed below, can now be found around the school building and will be used as a logo on all school eco documentation.
The girls hockey squad went to Lurgan college for a tournament. Although it was cold and a wet day, they played their socks off and came second in the competition. They had a great day out.
The kitchen staff prepared a fabulous Christmas Dinner today. Children and staff enjoyed the festivities and fine food. Here's a few photos from the Dining Hall.
Primary 5 were recently visited by the Northern Ireland Fire Service. The children were given a safety talk by the officers in class, they really enjoyed and benefited greatly from this very worthwhile and educational annual visit. A special thank you to the Lurgan Branch of NI Fire Service who were fantastic in relaying their safety message.
Recently Waringstown Primary School took part in the nation-wide event ‘Northern Ireland Does The Daily Mile Santa Run!
Children were encouraged, as appropriate, to run or jog for most of the time and keep walking to a minimum.
We all know that being more active, more often, makes us feel that little bit better. This was a great opportunity for our children to think about their own mental health and what makes them feel that bit happier.
Children wore their school tracksuits alongside a Christmas Jumper to support this event. Everyone enjoyed their time outside and accomplished the Daily Mile Santa Run. Take a look through our gallery to see how we got on:
